Howdy folks. A lot has been happening here at Table Tyrant Games over the last few weeks, particularly in the lead up to Smiths of Winterforge’s launch on Kickstarter. Well, I have some good news and some bad news.
Let’s start with the bad news. Smiths of Winterforge has been pushed back. We are no longer launching on September 16. Instead, we will be launching around mid-October. We’re sorry to get your hopes up. We know plenty of you who have played Smiths are eager to get your hands on it just as much as we are eager to see it hitting tables across the world.
This brings us to the good news. There’s a reason behind the delay. This week, we joined forces with Australian tabletop publisher, Rule & Make. These guys have been publishing games for the last few years and will be bringing their expertise to the Smiths of Winterforge project. This means there will be a few minor rule tweaks and some cosmetic changes but it also means that the production and crowdfunding for Smiths of Winterforge will be streamlined with the knowledge gaps Aaron and I have being filled by the R&M team.
For those unfamiliar with the Rule & Make, and the powerhouses Allen and Alistair behind it, these guys have already published several games including Rise to Power, Entropy, and the immensely popular Burger Up.These guys know what they’re doing when it comes to publishing and will work to get our games into more hands around the world.
So, what does that mean for us? Not a lot will change. Table Tyrant Games is still Table Tyrant Games. Aaron and I will still be making games both in-house and with other designers. The only difference is from now on, we will be acting as a division of Rule & Make. Rule & Make may pass a game on to us for development and we may pass games on to them that don’t fit with our style and together, we have a stronger position for international distribution.
Things are going to be moving a lot faster with Table Tyrant Games now. Expect to see plenty of announcements in the coming months 🙂
